This paper analyzed the significance of the whistleblower system in the field of food in China, and the provisions and shortcomings of the current legal by discussing the whistleblower system in the United States. Based on the American whistleblower system, the whistleblower system in China’s food industry can be improved by the following measures: Improving the social participation of reporting, using the Internet + simplify the reporting process, improving the reward policy of whistleblowers and increasing the protection of whistleblowers. Giving full play to the role of whistleblowers in the field of food can reduce food violations and ensure people's food safety.
