Objective To understand the level of chlorpyrifos residues in vegetables in Yunnan province, and evaluate the dietary exposure risk of chlorpyrifos poisoning in vegetables. Methods From 2012 to 2019, municipal vegetables in Yunnan province were collected for the determination of chlorpyrifos. Combined with the food consumption data in China, acute and chronic dietary exposure assessment of chlorpyrifos were conducted by point assessment method. Evaluation results were compared with acute reference dose (ARfD) and acceptable daily intake (ADI) to evaluate the exposure risk of chlorpyrifos in vegetables. Results The acute exposure of people aged 1 to 4 years was greater than ARfD (0.1 mg/kg bw), the acute exposure of other age groups was less than ARfD (0.1 mg/kg bw), and the average exposure of each age group was lower than ADI (0.01 mg/kg bw). Conclusion The chronic exposure risk of chlorpyrifos poisoning in vegetables is low, but the acute exposure risk should be concerned.
