Objective Toresearch the recovery of 20% tea pigment (TP) on the inhibiting of sciatic nerve of toad by the hypertonic glucose solution (GS). Methods Twenty-four toads were randomly divided into 3 groups: the ringer’s solution group, GS group and 20% TP group. The action potential of the sciatic nerve trunk of toad was measured and analyzed by biological function experiment system. Results Both 5% GS and 10% GS decreased the conduction velocity and amplitude of the neural stem action potential (P<0.05).The action potential conduction velocity of the 5% GS group and 10% GS group were first increased and then decreased within10 min, but the conduction velocity of 5% GS group at 10 min was still higher than that of 10% GS group (P<0.05).The amplitude and conduction velocity of the neural stem action potential increased after 20% TP intervention (P<0.05). Conclusion Both 5% GS and 10% GS damage the nerve stem, and TP can antagonize the inhibitory effect of GS on nerve conduction velocity and amplitude.
