Objective To improve the detection capability of Listeria monocytogenes in food and the level of laboratory quality management. Methods Listeria monocytogenes testing was carried out according to GB 4789.30-2010 National food safety standard-Food microbiological examination-Listeria monocytogenes. Automatic pathogenic microorganism detection system (BAX system Q7) was used for rapid screening of 3 samples. The suspicious strains of 3 samples were identified by automatic microbial, biochemical identification system (VITEK 2 CAMPACT), matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) and the sequence analysis of listeriolysin O (hlyA). Results Listeria monocytogenes was detected in CODE 1 and 3, and was not detected in CODE 2. Conclusion The laboratory has participated in the proficiency testing of Listeria monocytogenes in food, which organized by National Institute for Food and Drug Control, and obtained satisfactory results.
