Objective To investigate the antimicrobial resistance of Vibrio parahaemolyticus (VP) in Beijing entry and exit aquatic products. Methods A total of 320 strains of VP were isolated from Beijing entry and exit aquatic products during 2008-2017, and modified Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method were used to test the susceptibility of 21 kinds of commonly used antibiotics. Results Totally 89.1% of the VP strains were resistant to ampicillin but all sensitive to ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, gentamicin, polymyxin B and imipenem. The numbers were up to 94.7% and 82.1% of strains, which were moderate resistance to erythromycin and streptomycin, respectively. Conclusion There are a large number of mediating drug resistance and heterogeneous drug resistance in the experimental strains. It is important to strengthen monitoring the VP antimicrobial resistance in the aquatic products, in order to guide the use of antibiotics in clinical and fish harvesting.
