Objective To investigate the migration of formaldehyde from the organic coating of food contact materials. Methods Samples were soaked in accordance with regulatory requirements, and the for-maldehyde emissions were measured by acetylacetone spectrophotometry. Results Under the same condi-tion, the migration of formaldehyde was largest in acidic food simulants. In the same food simulants, the migration of formaldehyde was increased with sterilizing time and temperature. Conclusion The migration risk of organic coating was obtained through the study of formaldehyde migration rules.
