ABSTRACT: Objective In order to identify the true and false of honey, the inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was used to analysis the isotope ratios of the trace elements Pb and Sr. Methods The data of the isotope ratios of Pb and Sr between Raohe northeast black bee honey and honey from different areas were analyzed using the quality analysis professional software Mass Profiler Professional (MPP) with the methods of decision tree, naive bayes, neural network, partial least square discriminate, and support vector machine models. Results Pb and Sr isotope ratios between honey from different areas vary greatly from each other. Raohe honey can be effectively distinguished from the others, telling 84.72% of the total differences. It had been demonstrated that the accuracy rate of MPP software’s analyzing the 16 honey samples with Decision Tree Model was 100%.Conclusion Pb and Sr isotope ratios with ICP-MS and then identifying adulterated honey is feasible.KEY WORDS: Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry; isotope; traceability
