[ ] Objective: Studies on the HPLC method of the Content determination of L-carnitine in the weight reducing health food, and the influence on the experiment results by different chromatographic conditions and extraction conditions were investigated. Methods: The samples were extracted by ultrasonic extraction with pure water , the temperature was 30℃, and the time was 20 minutes. The separarion was performed on a Phenomenex Gemini C18,column ( 4. 6 ×150 mm, 5μm) , the mobile phase consisted of Hydrogen phosphate two(pH2.5 0.005mol/L)+Octane sulfonate(0.002mol/L) +Acetonitrile = 52:45:3 , the flow was 0.8 mL/min,the detection wavelength was 210 nm. Results: The -camitine was shown to be good linear over the range from 47.86μg/ml~2.39mg/ml ( r = 1.0000). The Average recovery was 101.5% ,RSD 1.46%. Conclusion: The experiment conditions are suitable for the determination of L-carnitine in different products and can be used for the establishment of quality standards.
