Objective To detect the content of deoxynivalenol (DON) in Gibberella damaged grains of wheat with different disease symptoms. Methods The content of DON in grains of wheat with healthy, shrinkage, shrinkage and black, shrinkage and red symptoms were detected by immune affinity chromatography purification with high performance liquid chromatography, respectively. Results The content of DON in healthy grains of wheat was not detected, and the content of DON in grains of wheat with shrinkage and black, shrinkage and red symptoms were close to 1000 μg/kg which was the permitted level of national food safety standards in food mycotoxins standard. The content of DON in grains of wheat with shrinkage symptom was about half of that of red wheat, and was significantly lower than that of shrinkage and red wheat and shrinkage and black wheat (P<0.01). Conclusion It can provide theoretical basis for grain procurement agencies to determine the content of DON.
