Abstract：ThecompilationofEngineeringasanimportantcollectionofliteratureprovidesrichresourcesforthestudyofChinesetechnologicalandengineeringhistory.Firstly,thecompilationdetailskeydocumentsonChineseindustrialstandardizationandreformofmeasurementandweightsystems,providingimportantsupportforrelatedresearch.Secondly,thehistoryofthedevelopmentofthepowerindustrycanalsobetracedbackinthecompilation,whichisofgreatsignificanceforunderstandingearlyChineseindustrializationandurbanmodernization.Furthermore,thesurveyreportofrailwayfactoriesprovidesanewperspectiveforthestudyofrailwayhistory,complementingthemissingpartsoftraditionalrailwayhistoryresearch.Inaddition,thebookreviewsandadvertisementsinthecompilationalsoshowusthestylesandtechnicalcharacteristicsofindustrialproductsatthattime,aswellasthedynamicsofthespreadofWesterntechnologytoChina.Overall,thecompilationofEngineeringnotonlyhasaprofoundimpactonthestudyofChinesetechnologicalandengineeringhistory,butalsoprovidesimportantreferencevalueforthestudyoftechnologicalsocialhistory,industrialheritageresearchandotherfields.
