Abstract：Inthefieldofarraysignalprocessing,uniformlineararrays(ULAs)arewidelyusedtodetect/separateaweaktargetandestimateitsdirectionofarrivalfrominterferenceandnoise.Conventionalbeamforming(CBF)isrobustbutrestrictedbyawidemainlobeandhighsidelobelevel.Covariance-matrix-inversedbeamformingtechniques,suchastheminimumvariancedistortionlessresponseandmultiplesignalclassification,aresensitivetosignalmismatchanddatasnapshotsandexhibithigh-resolutionperformancebecauseofthenarrowmainlobeandlowsidelobelevel.Therefore,comparedwiththewidebandCBF,thisstudyproposesarobustfocused-and-deconvolvedconventionalbeamforming(RFD-CBF),utilizingtheRichardson-Lucy(R-L)iterativealgorithmtodeconvolvethefocusedconventionalbeampowerofahalf-wavelengthspacedULA.Then,thefocused-and-deconvolvedbeampowerachievesanarrowermainlobeandlowersidelobelevelwhileretainingtherobustnessofwidebandCBF.Moreover,comparedwiththewidebandCBF,RFD-CBFcanobtainahigheroutputsignal-to-noiseratio(SNR).Finally,theperformanceofRFD-CBFisevaluatedthroughnumericalsimulationandverifiedbyseatrialdataprocessing.
