Abstract：Simulatedmovingbedchromatography(SMBC)representsanovelseparationmethodcharacterizedbyhighseparationefficiency,lowinvestmentcosts,andsuitabilityforcontinuouslarge-scaleproduction.Inrecentyears,ithasgarneredsignificantattentionandresearchfocus,findingwidespreadapplicationsinindustriessuchasfood,chemicals,andpharmaceuticals.SMBCcombinestheprinciplesofsimulatedmovingbedtechnologywithchromatographicseparationtechnology.Thisreviewbeginsbytracingtheoriginsofchromatographicseparationtechnologyandsubsequentlyintroducestheprinciplesandapplicationfieldsofsimulatedmovingbedchromatographicseparationtechnology.Thenarrativethendelvesintopracticalapplications,outliningscenarioswheresimulatedmovingbedchromatographyhasproveneffectiveinefficientlyseparatingmixturesofstarchsugars,oligosaccharides,sugaralcohols,andorganicacids.Byprovidinginsightsintotheseapplicationscenarios,thisreviewservesasavaluablereferencefortheindustrialadoptionofsimulatedmovingbedchromatographytechnology.
