Currently,intheworldwideindustry,themostpopularfindesignofautomotiveheatexchangersisthelouvertype.However,it'snoticedintheindustrythatthefundamentalresearchesofthefinsonairsideisprettyrearduetothedifficultiesofthetinystructures.ThispaperaimsatemployingComputationalFluidDynamics(CFD)methodologytorevealtheairflowcharacteristicsofthelouverfinsandtrytofindconnectionstothemacroperformanceofthecoils.Basedon1:1scaleof10louverfinsasagroupindetailedgeometry,torepresentanoverallheatexchanger,conductsimulationtoexploretheairsidekeyheattransfercharacteristicsofthefins,includingheattransferflux,airsidepressuredrop,Reynoldsnumberdistributionatdifferentlouveranglesetc.Thefindingshavebeenvalidatedwiththetesteddata.Illustrationsoftheairflowpatternthroughthefinsandlouvershavebeenpresentedandananimationvideooftheairstreamflowhasalsobeencreatedfortutorialpurpose.
