CFDanalysisandmulti-parametermulti-objectiveoptimizationmethodisusedtostudytheaerodynamicdesignontheairdeflectorofavan-bodylightdutytruck.Theprocessstartswithashapeparameterizationoftheairdeflector,andthenselectseightfactorsrepresentingthecharacteristicsoftheairdeflector.Adaptivesamplingmethodisusedtofillthesamplespacebecauseofitscharacteristicofreducingthenumberofsolutions.Afterthattheapproximatemodelisestablished.TheoptimizationgoalisgettingminimumvalueofCd(vehicleaerodynamicdragcoefficient).Finally,theglobaloptimizationisperformedbyusingthemultiIslandgeneticalgorithm.Afteroptimization,theoptimizeddesigncanresultina13.6%reductioninCdcomparedtothetruckthatmatchedtheoriginalairdeflector.Inaddition,ParetofrontlineisintroducedtofindtheoptimalmatchingofalltheseparametersconsideringsimultaneouslytheCdandtheweightofairdeflector.Accordingtotheresults,designerscanconsiderthetwofactorstochoosethebestmodel.
