Jackingforceisoneofthecrucialparametersforpipestructuredesign,selectionofpipejackingmachineandshaftstructuredesignduringjackingprocess.Topredictthejackingforcemoreaccurately,thispapersummarizesfourcalculationmethodsofcurvedjackingforce.TheJapanMicroTunnelingAssociation(JMTA)MethodisbasedonTerzaghiarchingtheorywithfullcontactbetweenpipeandsoil.WhiletheHertzcontactmethodisbasedonthepartialcontactmodel.ShimadamethodandPerssoncontactmethodconsidertheinfluenceoffrictionalresistanceofpipe-soilandpipe-mudconcurrentlyinthestableconditionofexcavationcavity.ByfieldmonitoringofjackingforcedataindifferenttypesofsoilandcoverdepthinthecurvedpipejackingroofofGongbeitunnel,thecutterheadresistance,dynamicandstaticfrictionalresistancehavebeenanalyzed.Also,theadditionalfrictionalresistancecausedbystoppageeffecthasbeenpresented.Theresultsshowthatthemudpressureismoreconvenienttocalculatethecutterheadresistancethanactivesoilpressure.ThePerssoncontactmodelisapplicabletocalculatethefrictioninstableconditionofexcavationcavitywhiletheShimadamodeliscapableofpredictingfrictionalresistancevaluesforunstablecondition.
